Unable to restore system partition on RAID 1

Thread needs solution

I've created a fill backup of my C: partition with Acronis True Image Home 10 and want to restore it on a SATA RAID 1 (Dawicontrol DC154). After starting the restore and reboot of the system I get the the message "Acronis Loader fatal error: Boot drive (partition) not found.".

But the RAID is okay. I've made a test installation of Windows XP and it works pretty well. Only Acronis doesn't recognize it.

I've read about a Boot-CD in this forum that maybe fix the problem. But I don't have access to it from my account. Would you be so kind to send me a link to this image? Or is there another way to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Daniel

The BootCD doesn't have the right drivers for your hardware. This very common problem with ATI (and all the other disk imaging progs that use linux as the OS on the BootCD) requires you to contact Tech and get them to send you the iso you need for your hardware. I don't know why they don't just post the various ISO versions some place for registered users and stop putting everyone through this monkey dance-- next to bugs, it's the biggest source of issues with ATI and they could probalby cut probs in half if they learned how to conquer this issue or at least make it much easier to address.

Also note that if your image source had a hardware driver installed for nonRAID, then when you restore that image , that same (now wrong) driver will be installed. If going from nonRAID to RAID, it's better, imo, to create the RAID after you restore -- you should be able to do this without losing any data.
