unwanted sector by sector (slow) restore

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Using a recovery boot CD to restore a full backup (also done through that restore CD) located on an USB external storage, the full disk restore is done "sector by sector".
What is the reason why this (slow) mode is choosen and what way to force a "normal" restore ?

I have tested with two different disks USB 2 and USB 3.
The reason maybe comes from the source : Dell 9020, Intel Raid 1 enabled (and active on 2 disks).

Greetings,
Sector by sector copy and restore is slower because you are making a copy/restore of each readable/writable data sector on the drive, and not just the actual data stored on a disk or partition.

Was you original backup sector by sector? That is the only reason I can think of for this happening.

I will do it again and double check but I'm pretty sure that I never checked "sector by sector"
I've been using Ti for ages and never ever used that option

I see the same thing in earlier versions. I frequently create full disk backups from the ATI Rescue Media, and I never select "sector by sector". When I perform a restore, again from the ATI Rescue Media, status messages during restore indicate that it is "sector by sector" even though the backup was not.
