Upgrade from Vista to Windows 8

Thread needs solution

I diligently backuped my files using True Image 2012 before upgrading my computer from Vista to Windows 8.

However, Windows 8 killed True Image 2012.

Hence I cannot access my *.tib files that I so deserately need.

I tried to reinstall True Image 2012, but Windows 8 will not accommodate.

Essentially, I need to access my Thunderbird profile that was also killed by Windows 8, but the archie is in the *.tb file.

Please, how can I now access my data? I do not have a True Image CD because I bought the download version from Acronis online (but everything has been correctly licensed and paid for years)

If you register(ed) your 2012 serial number online with Acronis, you can sign into your account and download an ISO file that can be used to create the bootable Rescue Media.

Thank you, James.

I actually got at my backup by obtaining a trial version of TI 2012.

I wonder whether, after my Vista to Windows 8 upgrade, there is any software evidence that I was previously licensed for TI 2012. If I buy an upgrade to TI 2013 will it install?

If you purchase the Upgrade version of 2013, the installer for 2013 will ask for both the 2013 serial number, and a serial number of a previously PURCHASED version of Acronis.
If you haven't purchased any older versions, you don't have a serial number for them, so you must purchase the full version of 2013, not the upgrade.
The upgrade versions will not "Upgrade" a trial version to a paid version.

Just to get you started, you could sign up for the 2013 trial, and use it for 30 days before making a purchase.
If you do decide to purchase the 2013 version, the trial can be converted to the paid version simply by entering the newly purchased (full version) serial number into the program
