Upgrading Op SYSTEM XP-to Win7

Thread needs solution

'm using True image 2012 Currently - on a Win XP sp3 System I'm going to upgrade the same to win7 pro 32bit - can True image 2014 pro off load all my programs and email (outlook 2010) and restore them to the Clean install on Win7 ? if so How best to do this when upgrading the same HD - I have a 1.5 TB usb WD Usb Drive attached and can off load my orginal system now- I'm using it as backup recovery for the 12 version now -which won't restore (I assume) without over writing my New Op system when installed.

Any restore of the old backup would overlay or wipe out the Win7 install so an xp restore is not practical.

You can restore only your personal files or data files as a file restore but the programs will need to be installed each as a new i nstall.

Once you have Win 7 installed frresh, do a new backup first thing and that can be done from the TI Recovery CD before you ever install True Image onto 7.

So I'll just copy my stuff (data doc's ect.) over to the usb drive and delete the acronis backup files then copy them back and reload the programs fresh.

You can use the backup files to restore just your documents if you did a disk backup or a files and folders backup. You do have to load fresh copies of the programs.
