USB rescue media boots then hangs

Thread needs solution

I created a USB rescue media in 2014 and booted from it.
After selecting to load true image it starts then screen goes blank and nothing happens. I have a2013 USB rescue media and it boots fine. Have Windows 8 system.

Hi to you too Rudy,
Under previous versions when that problem occured , there was a command line to add to overcome this problem.
Just redo your bootable media and input the following command in the appropriate field.
quiet acpi=off noapic
Give it a try!

Rudy,
I did 6 back ups this evening 2014_5560 plain vanilla boot media. One of the back ups was booted from a USB DVD/RW drive. 2014 hung on the splash screen, after I selected Acronis 2014. I tried hitting F11 and nothing happened. I was in a rush and haven't had a chance to look into this further. Restarting could have fixed it, but I was walking out the door. Building a modified BOOT CD might help, although it could be something related to your hardware config. Worth trying for sure.

Babac,

Thanks for your suggestion but that didn't help.

I did find that if I change the BIOS boot from UEDFI to Legacy it loads up fine. The interesting part is without this change my 2013 rescue media USB thumb drive load just fine.

It seams that after the splash screen of Acronis loading the screen goes blank and I can tell from the thumb drive LED light it is still reading it.

When I do boot the rescue media this way it seems to function just fine (can see my C: drive with Windows 8 install). My question is if I boot this way can I do a restore to my system and the switch back to UEDFI?
