USB TrueImage 2013 HD fails at boot

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Creation of the USB TrueImage 2013HD is OK but when trying to use it it fails to boot (fails after Acronis logo)
Anyone experienced the same issue ?

When I do a recovery the computer completes the recovery process then refuses to boot, usually stopping at the BIOS or freezing as it tries to start windows. If I unplug my second physical drive the computer starts okay. I can put it in sleep and reconnect the second drive which then works, but it is then prone to boot problems. A workaround has been to use a different slot on the motherboard for the second physical disk which seems okay, but clearly there is something in the boot process is not okay. Any ideas?

Re the above.
I am using Acronis 2013 recovery on default settings to back up my C drive. I am using windows 7 and have two physical disks.

Eric,
Do you have capability to booy from the CD is see that works so we can isolate the problem to the usb device? Or, perhaps use a usb flash drive and use the "Create bootable media" option and create a new bootable usb. TRY TO AVOID USING A SAN DISK brand flash drive.

Shaun,
What is the 2nd disk? Is it a data disk or is a bootable disk with an OS installed on it?

Your motherboard has two SATA connections which are numbered as "0" and "1",'
For most systems, the "0" is where the boot disk is connected and the 2nd disk would be connected to "1".

Also, when boot first starts, go into the Bios and make sure that it is disk 0 which is listed as the desired boot disk and see if you can boot with only the "boot disk" connected. This setting is normally only needed one time.

Once you have the above set, you could use the user created Windows Recovery or Installation CD and when booted from that CD, then do a Windows Startup Repair and you may have to perform this more than once if the first time does not succeed. the 2nd disk should not be connected during this repair.

I will try to burn a CD with the ISO file and do the same with another USB flash disk
Will keep you posted

Tried with another USB disk with Acronis Trial 2014 and doesn't boot

Eric,
Maybe I am mis-interpreting your posting but do be sure that the usb disk creation is done from the installed version using the "Create bootable media" option from top menu. The iso file will only create burn to a CD and will not create a bootable flash drive.
