Using Acronis TIH 2011 with Pogoplug
Hi,
My setup-: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, pogoplug upstairs with 3 drives attached. Not enough storage on my local PC to backup to a drive within it.
I have bought Acronis TIH 2011 with a view to backing up 3 computers to large hard drives connected to a Pogoplug. However, once installed, and trying all the various backup options, Pogoplug connected drives aren't showing up in TIH, and I have found no good way of using them. Chat support requested a screenshot of my PC showing the drives available under windows but not in Acronis. Not sure what extra information a screenshot would provide...
Is Acronis TIH 2011 going to be useful for me, or should I request my money back (how long have I got to do that)? If I'm going to have to connect an external drive to my PC then I can just use windows backup. I have also searched the internet now(d'oh) and found lots of damning reports of people not even being able to recover from Acronis backups - I hope these are old issues.
Thanks & regards,
Stuart

As pogoplug drives are not physical drives connected via IDE, SATA or at least USB, (As I understood it's a some sort of NAS) they will not show for disk/partition backup as a source. It's good that they show as destination, but if pogoplug software maps these drives to the drive letter only when current user logs in, scheduled backup to it may fail.
