Using Win Task Scheduler instead of TI2014 scheduling

Thread needs solution

When using Win Task Scheduler instead of TI2014's scheduler, is the "Do not schedule" option selected in TI2014?

What is the best way to back up several partitions one after another, then close down?

Yes, if using the Win scheduler instead of the TI scheduler, the "do not schedule" option must be selected.

If all the partitions are on the same disk, why not use the "disk option" rather than individual partitons. The disk would include all partitions on the same disk. Look at link 2 below, the very first picture.

If the disk option is not used and you must use the partition option, I would schedule individual tasks for each partition, scheduled start time seveal minutes apart and then on the last task, use the TI pre/post command post command and shut the system down via a batch file.

I prefer to shut the system down following a backup via a batch file rather than using the TI included shutdown command. Look inside link 1 for illustrations of all of these.

Many thanks, GroverH.

I've tried setting up the Win Task settings as you describe and things got a bit confusing....for me!

You say schedule the start times several minutes apart. Do the back up processes form a queue in the same order as the relative start times?.....I am not certain that they did an my earlier trial and I've been assuming that it's necessary to start subsequent back ups after the assumed finishing times of preceding partitions. Is this so? If so, I guess it's necessary to allow for each back up to be a "Full" version.
