Weekly backup schedule

Thread needs solution

I am new to this forum; I searched and didn't find this question, so please forgive me if it was already covered.

I have a weekly backup schedule established--for example, it does a full backup on Monday, then incremental on Wednesday and Friday. This should repeat EVERY week. BUT, since Acronis is based off of number of incremental (before starting a new full) rather than the day of the week, then if one of the incremental backups doesn't run (for whatever reason), then the schedule will be off.'

How do I enforce that Monday (for example) should ALWAYS be a full?

Thanks!

Menashe,

Could you post a screenshot of your task schedule?

One method of making Monday always a full would be to create two tasks, one which is a weekly task on Mondays and is only a full type and then another task that runs on Wednesdays and Fridays also a twice a weekl task that is incremental linked to the full on Monday.

Colin,

Thank you; I will look at this when I get home.

Since I am at work and cannot look now, how do you "link" the incremental task to the full one?

Also, am I the only one who feels that that functionality is lacking? I used Ghost for many years, and backup are based on the day(s) of the week, not number of full/incremental backups done!

Thanks!

Menashe,

If you select the weekly or daily schedule you can tick days of the week you want the task to run.

See this Acronis kb note. Specifically look for this entry. Clicking on the 'advanced' link in the scheduler will allow you to add extra days.
