Western Digital Advanced Format Drive - Acronis Fails
I recently purchased a Western Digital 1TB Advanced Format Drive as seen here: www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp
I used Acronis to clone my old drive to the new WD drive. Everything worked fine, but when I attempt to use Acronis to make a backup image of my C: drive I get the following error:
Details: Operation with partition 'C:' was terminated.
Details:
Failed to create volume snapshot. (0x70021)
Tag = 0xA5695862AAF8E690
Failed to obtain the snapshot state. (0x10C44A)
Tag = 0x14181C22EF45AF5E
Reached the end of the file (0xFFF0)
code = 80070026)
Is anyone running one of these new drives? The model number for these drives end in "EARS". Does this have anything to do with the align utility that you must run to give the 4k cluster size? I had no problem using Acronis until I cloned my data to this drive.

Yana, thank you for responding. After I posted my message, I decided to try an uninstall and reinstall. The uninstall/reinstall solved the problem, so I did not need to try the suggestions you gave me. Normally I would try an uninstall before posting, but I didn't think about it this time. Thanks for your help.

Dear John!
Thank you for your comment and for keeping us posted! I'm really glad to hear that the issue went away and quite positive that you shouldn't face any further issues.
I assume that this was the glitch of the snapapi drivers: most probably they failed to get assigned to the drive correctly, and reinstallation fixed it.
But should the problem reappear, do not hesitate to notify me - I will be glad to assist you!
Thank you once again,
