Western Digital external book drive full

Thread needs solution

I backed up to my Western Digital Book external drive and now it is full. How do I handle that? Do I delete from the Book and start over? Do I have to delete each time? Thanks.

It's up to you. You can create Acronis True Image Home tasks that will manage the space, automatically deleting the oldest image when required. Or, you can delete manually.

On my own external drives, I tend to manage the space manually, deleting old images as I need to. When I setup ATIH backup routines for friends, I typically use automated tasks to manage the space for them, so that older images are deleted when the space is needed. That way the user doesn't need to worry about it.

This link should help. Depending upon whether you are using only
Full backups (see Figure 11-Full)
Full with x number incrementals (see figure 11-Inc)
Full with x number differentials see figure 11-Diff)

You would need to create a new task using one of the above types.
The task would need to point to a new folder so the new backups are not in the same folder as the prior backups.

If space requires it, you may have to delete some of your old backups but my preference would be to get an additional storage disk so you could keep the old backups as well.
