What happened to compression?

Thread needs solution

I have the newest Acronis and it's working fine. I noticed the file sizes are not compressed. For example a 159.3 GB disc is imaged at 159.3 GB...in the old ones, if I remember correctly, they were compressed smaller.
Do I not have something set right with this newest Acronis?
Thanks!

Hello Mark,

Let me help you.

There are 2 possible reasons of the issue:

  1. Sector-by-sector backup was performed instead of the general one;
  2. File system errors.

So, please make sure that you haven't set a mark near "create a backup using sector-by-sector approach" when creating a backup task and check the disks for the errors:

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that
checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

Please reply to this thread if your backup size is still the same.

Thank you.
