What version archives can ATI2013 process?

Thread needs solution

Hi, I have recently discovered that ATI version 11 (not 2011) can not access an archive made with a 2013 boot disc, which I guess is understandable?

My question is, what is the oldest ATI version backup that 2013 can access and recover from?

Thanks

Acronis True Image version 11.0 is six years old. Of course it can't open an image made with ATI 2013. Why should it?

ATI 2013 can open images made with many older versions of ATI. I haven't tested very old archives, as I had done in the past when new ATI versions were issued. I don't know that I've seen an official statement on how far back one can safely go. There have been threads discussing it, so perhaps you'll find answers by searching the forum.

In order to have the best chance of a successful restoration, my opinion is that the restore should be done using the same version as was used to create the backup in first place. Therefore, I have a spindle of TI Recovery CD's with bulld numbers and serial numbers of each CD I have used over the past several years.

And, there is the option to use Grub4Dos(or other software) on a single 4G or 8G flash drive and store all recent versions on one flash drive. I have from veresion 8 to current on one Grub4Dos bootable flash drive. Simply choose the version you want from a menu of choices.

I put the version and build # in the comments section when performing a backup...
