What's the difference?
Win XP SP3, 250GB HD
I have been using Acronis True Image Home 11 for some time and all seems to be OK. I make full backups about once a month. Since I don't accumulate too much data in general, I don't bother with incremental backups. I have never used Try-and Decide, but I plan on starting to use it in the near future fairly regularly.
I am confused as to the differences between the various releases of ATI. For example, what is the difference (or improvement) between ATI Home 11 and 2011 Home, or 2012 Home? I'm sure that newer versions have added some improvements, but what are the differences and are any of these advantageous to me? Should I upgrade to the latest 2012 version?
The user interface on my older version is very clear and simple to use. From what I have read, the latest version (2012) seems a lot more complicated.
A clarification between the various versions would be helpful to me and others.
Thank you.

If your version does what you want, why do you care about other versions. And if it doesn't do something you want it to do, then you should look at ATIH2012 features to see if they're of interest. No need to care about interim versions as they're no longer offered (or supported) anyway.

Are there any features/improvements in 2012 that are missing in my ATIH 11? Speed? Reliability of backups?
If not, what would make a newer version more desirable than an older one?
Also, there is confusion in the nomenclature that Acronis uses. Eg: What is the difference between ATI Home 11 and ATI 2011 Home?

Morton,
If V11 works for your computer, including the V11 recovery CD, keep it.
With 2012, you will get not new features like online-backup, Try&Decide, Non-stop backup and Synchronization. I always advice users to make sure they have a system backup as a backup of these features (that I don't use personally. Your mileage with vary).
The way I look at it, don't change your backup software unless your hardware/software forces you to. For example, you buy a new Win7 computer...
