Why does acronis want internet access after completing backup?

Hi everybody,
I have acronis true image 2010 got from amazon uk and I like it a lot. I have been using the free version that came with computer mags for years but with windows 7 I decided to buy home 2010.
One little thing puzzles me. Why does true image request internet access after I have done a backup to another drive on my computer? I am using zone alarm and without fail the zone alarm dialog appears requesting internet access for acronis, I have denied this but it puzzles me. It says the destination ip is 208.67.222.22 which I believe is an open DNS setting.
Very puzzling. Is this some sort of copy protection by acronis?
many thanks for any replies.
Joe

Have you set TI to participate in the Customer Experience Program? If so, it may be trying to send usage patterns.

Hi again,
sorry for taking a while to get back on this.
I have had to do a few recoveries and also have done a few backups which worked out fine, but there again at the end of the operation acronis wants internet access as notified by my zone alarm firewall, whuch I have not allowed.
I have checked my options in home 2010 and the customer experience option is not selected so I am not taking part in that.
Since my copy of acronis is a 100% legit copy bought from amazon uk I would hate to think that this is a type of copy protection on acronis's part so as to validate legitimate users.
Has anyone any further explanations please as every time I use acronis now it is requesting internet access?
many thanks
Joe

Is it only certain operations (back up, restore, etc.) that cause it or does just starting TI cause it?
Does the TI log show anything odd?
Could you post a ZA log entry of it?
I assume you don't have any options set in TI that might require internet access.

Hi again folks,
The process that wants internet acces is trueimagehomenotify.exe. I am not partisapating in the customer experience program, nor can't see anything in the options that would cause the above to seek internet acess.
Just very curious as to what the above is?

Hello all,
Thank you for posting and all your help.
Joe, I will definitely assist you.
The TrueImageHomeNotify.exe process sends e-mail notifications for backup tasks, if you have selected them in the backup options.
