Will True Image 9.0 work with Windows 10

Thread needs solution

I'm looking to clone my hard drive HDD onto a SSD and I've not used my copy of True Image in a while, I know there's an upgrade available but will that enable me to use it in Windows 10 for the job at hand?

Hello Darrell,

True Image 9.0 is not supported to be used with Windows 10 - only ATIH 2015 or 2016 are supported.

See KB document: 56196: Acronis Products: Windows 10 Support

With regard to cloning your HDD to an SSD, please use the offline recovery boot media for this and do not attempt to clone from within Windows as that can cause other problems, including damaging the ability of the computer to boot normally.

See also KB document: 2699: Solid State Drive Support in Acronis Products which defines which Acronis products offer full support for SSD drives.

Finally, KB document: 56634: Acronis True Image 2016: Cloning Disks shows the recommended procedure for doing a clone operation, including a video demonstration of the same.

Well, I really appreciate your taking the time to respond Steve.

At this point I'm torn between using the Clonezilla offline boot CD or going ahead and buying an upgraded copy of ATIH 2016.

Thanks again and I'll be sure and look over the information at the links you indicate.
