Windows 7 statrup

I am trying to speed my bootup time and eliminate having programs run in the background when I have no need for them, by eliminating programs that start up when Windows 7 boots.
Will my scheduled Acronis backups still take place if I uncheck the Acronis program at MSCONFIG startup? There is a separate entry for the scheduler which I can leave checked.
