Windows 7 to Windows XP MBR
Thread needs solution
Hello,
So I have done a clean install of windows 7 but before I did that I created a system image of my Windows XP installation with Acronis True Image Home 2009.
I now realized I forgot to save some program settings so now I want to restore windows XP, save the settings and then restore Windows 7 back.
I used Windows 7 own system backup to create a system image and also created the rescue disc. I tried it and it works.
Now I loaded up acronis rescue disc to restore Windows XP and it asks me if I also want to restore the MBR. This is where I got stuck because I don't know if I should restore the system image with or without the MBR.
Can anyone point out if I should and maybe explain a little bit so that I could understand what the MBR does?
