Windows 8 and older versions

Thread needs solution

I have discovered that the Acronis has not been working since I upgraded to W8. I originally had the 2009 home version, but upgraded that to 2010 standard upgrade. Can I upgrade directly to 2013 (as per the email you have sent me - your system (sales) is presumably clever enough to know what I have and haven't purchased in the past. If I can I assume that there will then be no problems interfacing with W8. Please be aware that I am not a techie!!!

Nicola,

You can purchase the 2013 upgrade and use it in Windows 8. The installation file you can download is the same as the full version, but will require that you input you 2013 serial number as well as your older version serial number during installation.
You should try and remove your older version of True image from Windows 8 using the control panel "Remove a program" option before trying to install 2013. It may even be a good idea to download and run the 2013 Cleanup Utility before installing 2013 in Windows 8 to be sure you have a "clean" starting point. The Cleanup Utility is located here: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876
