Windows 8 Upgrade from Win Vista (32bit) with try&decide? or just trust in recovery of c:/?

Thread needs solution

Dear all!

I am planning to upgrade my PC with Vista to Win 8 and want to have a safe way back if some of my programs won´t work with Win 8 or I just don´t like it:-)

My ideas:
1) to use try&decide - is this a recommended procedure even for a system upgrade to Win 8?
2) Doing a backup of c:/ and recover it - does this work to "undo" the complete windows upgrade? A special procedure needed doing this backup?

I have the "true image 2013" and the "plus pack" (but I don´t find any extra features with plus pack?)

Thankful for any hint with some experience!

Do a full disk backup image, selecting the entire disk (not just individual partitions). You can restore that image if needed.

I can''t image that Try & Decide would work for an entire OS upgrade.
