Windows will not run update on a cloned hard drive

Cloned my Sony Vaio laptop 320 gig hard drive to a 7200 rpm, 750 gig hard drive. Everything works great but unable to run Windows updates. Any ideas on how to correct this issue. I am using Acronis® True Image Home® version 11.0 (build 8,053). Do I have to upgrade to a newer version?

Is it vista or (or in a boolean sence) windows 7? Is the new drive an 'advanced format' one?
