Windows XP and Android Phone Problem

I have an Android phone with an added SD Memory Card installed. If I connect my Android phone, the computer and windows see 2 additional drives.

At this point, Android requires me to select if I want to see the drives as USB mass storage.

When I make the selection, I see the 2 Android storage devices on windows.

However, after installing Acronis 2012 TIH, I found that after following this same procedure, windows does not see the contents of the 2 Android storage devices anymore.

As soon as I uninstall Acronis 2012 TIH, I find the missing drives.

Does Aconis have a solution for this dilemma? See Note Below:

Note: A workaround that I have found:
1. Open Device Manager
2. Open Disk Drives
3. Right click on either of the Android drives.
4. Click the Policies Tab (note that there are 2 choices)
5. Click on the choice that is NOT selected.
6. Click OK.
This will open one of the 2 drives on the Android. You will need to repeat this process for the other mass storage device on the Android.

It took me several days of trial and error to find this work around. Then after one week, I discovered that it was Acronis 2012 TIH that was causing this issue. When I uninstalled Acronis, then everything went back to normal.

I am having the same problem mounting my Android phone with True Image installed. Thanks for taking the time to figure out a work around, but unfortunately it has to be repeated each time the phone is connected which is too troublesome for my way of working. This is clearly a bug in TrueImage.

Additional info for Acronis and other users. I am using Win XP running on a laptop and a Samsung GS2 (stock ROM). I uninstalled and reinstalled Acronis a couple of times on my computer, and the problem is reproducible every time. Also tried this on several computers at work:

Win XP on laptops (Lenovo and Toshiba) - failed 100% of the time.
Win XP on a desktop - was OK
Win 7 64b on a desktop - was OK

Also, I found that when I uninstalled Acronis, the program left behind several remnants of device drivers and registry entries. I used a separate uninstall program to remove most of the items, but I could never remove a device driver file fltsrv.sys without causing my computer to blue screen after a restart (had to restore the file using a rescue disk). I really do not appreciate programs that do not uninstall themselves completely.

Its too bad, I like functionality and ease of use of TrueImage. I hope that Acronis addresses these issues very soon.

I gave up and got a refund for Acronis 2012. I'm going to try 2011 in a while and see if that works.

I requested a refund today as well. I'm going with a competing product - the #2 disk imaging guys.
