Won't save Archive splitting settings as default

Thread needs solution

I'm using TI2011 ver6696 and When I set archive splitting it makes one file and when I tell it to save as default it doesn't. System is Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. I have tried various versions since it first came out and none of them work properly in this respect. Would appreciate any assistance. Thanks

What is the size setting you are trying to use?

Running XP Pro, I set the split to 4.7
Checked the "save as Default" option
Did NOT click the OK tab on the advanced settings but clicked the Backup Schemes tab header
Set several automatic cleanup options such as to keep x number of chiains using Diff, etc.
Then clicked ton the OK button from the BAckup schemes screen.
Then clicked backup later .
This created the task.

Now I started a new task and the archive split showed the 4.7 gb as the beginning setting--same as before so I had no issue with splitting.

A big however. One thing I have learned (and it has been shared numerous times) is that when saving a task, do NOT click the OK button from any of the four headers except Click the OK button from the backup schemes tab only.

Saving from the Backup schemes tab seems to keep all the new or edited setting. While clicking the OK button from the other tabs should work, I and others have found that clicking the OK button from the BAckups schemes tab does work--at least it does for me.

Give it a try.

After further experimenting I've found that it's only when the custom size is used and when a size with a decimal point is used examples; 1gb, 2gb, 700mb all work but 3.9gb, 2.5gb don't. Same applies for the settings being remembered as default.

It allowed me to save a custom 3900 mb setting and retain that setting for next task being crated.

Try saving a custom 2500 in the megabyte window.

As you noted, decimals do not seem to work in custom as a default setting.

Wonder if Tech Support knows of the problem? At least there is a work around.
