Worrisome Log Entries

Thread needs solution

I have loaded ATIH2012 trial version and performed some basic operations: image creation and single file restore.
There are entries in the event log (see attached image snapshot) that are worrisome:
"Failed to find information about operating system in Master Boot Record."
"Configuration file is not found and cannot be created."

I'd like to learn more and if these entries are cause for concern or not.
Some words on these or a pointer to a KB article that explains these messages and what to do about them would be much appreciated and helpful in my purchasing decision.

Thanks,
Mike S

The message "Configuration file is not found and cannot be created" does not seem to cause any problems, but the message "Failed to find information about operating system in Master Boot Record." is cause for concern. I'm not sure what it means, maybe someone else here can give us both some insight. What operating system are you running, and can you provide the version and build number of the Acronis True Image Home 2012 trial you are running. Do you have any kind of third party boot manager installed?

James,
Thanks for your reply.
I am running WinXP SP3
Acronis True Image Home 2012, Update 2.1 (build 7133) Trial version
No 3rd-party boot manager installed.

James,
Thanks for the pointer to the post.
I followed the post and other articles reference in the post, but was unable to find a solution that helped.
I have meanwhile been distracted for over a week with "Failed to open data stream." errors that began appearing in the logs in addition to the warning messages.
The backups themselves seem to be OK (I was able to recover test files); the errors were associated with the "Validate Backup Archive" step of the daily automatic/scheduled backup procedure.
Two days ago I manually ran a "Validate all backups" which reported successful completion.
I have not seen a warning or error message since.
Thank you again for your time.

FYI, I was getting "failed to open data stream" errors too. I deleted all backups, uninstalled ATI 2012, and reinstalled, and I stopped getting the error. I'm still getting the "Configuration file is not found and cannot be created" error, though.
