Wrong kernel prevents restore

Thread needs solution

I'm using True Image 2013 Build 6514.

A careless update of Adobe Flash Player resulted in McAfee being installed. I removed McAfee immediately using Windows Control Panel, but believing both Adobe and McAfee to be underhand businesses, I expect Traces of McAfee to have been left behind in order to clash with my already installed Internet Security software.

No problem - just restore my 'C' drive to as it was when it automatically backup up upon start up this morning.

When I ran the restore function on Acronis, upon re-boot, it came up with a message "This kernel requires an i6458586 CPU but only detected an i187423443586 CPU. Unable to boot"

I should think this is because I upgraded my CPU several months ago.

Does anyone out there have a solution? Or should I abandon this backup and start another from the beginning?

Hello Christopher,

most likely the problem is not in backup itself. Please check if you can successfully boot your machine from a rescue media.

If not, you can check if trial bootable media of Acronis True Image 2014 helps.

Thank you.
