Wrong message: No backup until now

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I don't know exactly what the messages might be in English as I use a German version of ATI 2013.

I set up three backups for my SSD and the two particions on the HDD and in addition a nonstop backup.
All backups seem to work. At least there are the datas in the folders on the backup HDD.
But in "backup and recovery" only two of them are show as up to date with the bottom "recovery" whilest two are shown as "no backup done until now". I can choose "backup now". Than the backup is done (and the datas to be found on the backup HDD). Also the recovery botton is displayed. But after the next restart of the computer it is the same as before. Two of four backups are shown correctly and two are displayed to be undone.

(As I said in another treat before I am going to change the backup HDD, but I did not until now. So that has nothing to do with this problem.)

What can I do?
Cheers
Karsten

Karsten,

This problem can happen when ATI loses track of existing backups in its database. A frequent reason is that the drive letter of the backup disk changes when it is unplugged and plugged back into the computer, or when the computer is restarted with different devices plugged in.
A sure way to avoid this problem is to use Windows disk management to assign a fixed drive letter, better placed late in the alphabet:
- right click on the computer icon on your desktop,
- choose manage, storage, disk management,
- in the disk management window, right click on the partition where the backup are stored,
- choose change path or drive letters,
- assign X: or Z:
- reboot the computer.

Once this is done:
- move the tib files you want to keep to another directory on the same disk for safekeeping,
- delete the faulting backup task,
- create a new one.

Hello Pat,
thank you for your answer. But it must be another reason as did I fix the diskletter to y and rebooted before I started to create any backup tasks.
Two of the backup are always found correctly at the same HDD "y".
By the way - funny - Windows Control Panel/backup and recovery is swiched correctly to True Image and shows only two backups. The nonstop backup as in the True Image windows but the volume backup shown here is different from the one correctly displayed in ATI.
Cheers
