Hello Ed,

thank you for your posting! I'd start with checking that  Acronis True Image.app and com.acronis.trueimagehelper are granted Full disk access as described in https://kb.acronis.com/content/61832  + check the drive for errors with Disk utility (the log shows Error 0x1703ef: Read error or data content is corrupted.) 
Create a new backup after that.

If the issue persists, it's worth opening a support ticket for the more in-depth investigation. To localize the issue, I'd try backing up 1) with PD virtual machine being excluded from the backup 2) to another destination. This will help to understand if the issue is directly related to the PD backup only.
