Not receiving notifications of replies via email
I have not seen any emails notifying me of replies to postings.
Is that mechanism working?
From what email address are the notifications sent?
Also, are notifications automatically enabled for the thread starter post?

However, I still do not receive notifications.

I guess Acronis doesn't care about Forum issues.
Makes one think twice about purchasing Acronis products, n'est-ce pas?

It has been over 1 month, and neither Acronis nor a forum administrator has bothered to respond to this thread.

Hello Howard,
Sorry for the delay, didn't have much time lately to review this forum.
According to the logs, the notifications system should work just fine. The e-mails should come from the 'noreply@acronis.com' address.
Can you please check your mailbox for the messages that might get filtered into Junk mail folder?
Thanks

If a message gets deleted, i't gone!
I just added acronis.com to a whitelist on my curremt incoming mailserver.
PLease reply here amd I'll tell you whether I receive it.

OK, here is the test reply to see if the notification is getting sent and delivered.

i just want to corroborate what Howard is saying: the "reply notification" machinery does not function.

I did receive notification of your posting, so, the problem may have been fixed.

Then probably it does function time to time... did you receive this one?

Yes.
But that implies only that the problem may have been fixed.
Other than this thread, I have not posted any new threads/replies for a few months, too busy.

Thanks for an answer, Howard.
Or maybe it doesn't work sporadically (cause there were no any specific actions to fix anything related to it) and there are situations when it just doesn't send the notifications (server overload, processing timeout, etc.)... Anyway, we will monitor the logs on this subject.

It's been several months since the last posting in this thread. I find that the email notification is sporadic. I have gotten into the habit of visiting the forum to check for replies and often there are some but there are no notifications.
A clarification please: If I create a new thread, should I see a reply that someone else does? Or do I have to reply to my own thread to get replies?

Once you have posted into a thread and if you have x'd the notification box, you should get an email message every time anyone else responds--or at least, this is how my notification seems to work.

GroverH, I'm not sure what you mean when you say "Once you have posted into a thread...". I think you mean "Once you have posted into an existing thread....." My experience is that if you create a new thread and someone else posts into it, you do not get a notification. However, if you reply to something in the thread that you created, then you will get notifications of future postings in that thread.
If that's the way it really works (and it worked that way yesterday with a new thread I created), then the solution is to create a new thread and then immediately reply to it so other postings will cause a notification. Seems pretty ridiculous to me.

larrymcg,
Have you ticked notifications in your account setup. This should get you every reply to a thread that you have posted or topic created.
