migrate easy 7 stuck on external usb hdd

Thread needs solution

After reading in the website advert for migrate easy 7 it is good for all hard disks I took it to mean that, and loaded my laptop internal eide/pata hdd, (after creating the cd boot disk,) to a external USB 2.5" SATA HDD. On booting up the boot cd it has a message saying it has no USB drivers installed thus totally preventing the cloning from the external HDD to the Internal HDD. I can't physically swap drives as the internal drive controller is PATA EIDE and all external 2.5"HDD's are SATA. The only 2.5"pata drives I have are the original 60Gb erased during the clone procedure and the new 160Gb unformatted both internal only. any help on resolving this problem would be appreciated.

Hello Paul,

Let me assist you with this situation. It looks like the product is not able to detect any hard drives plugged to your system, am I right?

If yes, this issue is caused by lack of the drivers for your HDD controller, and it can be solved by recreating a CD from the ISO file based on another loader.

We have implemented the possibility to download the appropriate ISO file after logging into your account (the serial number should be registered). This option is available for the current and (n-1) versions. Please log in to your account, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media. Download the file.
To get access to the ISO you should first register Acronis software.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD here.

I'd like to make sure all your queries regarding Acronis products are resolved.
Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Thank you.
