Universal Image Question/Concern
I have just purchased a new SSD which I plan to eventually use as my main HDD in my system. I am currently running a RAID-0 setup. I plan to install the SSD into my current system and install a fresh copy of Windows 7 onto it. I'll have my RAID and my SSD as bootable drives and start to slowly copy things over.
I am planning to buy a new motherboard and CPU in the near future and I have some questions about the Universal Image feature. I'm changing from an AMD to and Intel motherboard so I know my RAID will not carry over. I'm not too concerned about that. I just want to make sure I'll be able to use my freshly setup SSD with my new parts when i order them.
After I get my new motherboard/cpu, will I be able to use Universal Image to make a copy of my SSD (on my RAID enabled mobo) and move it over to my new motherboard which will be in ACHI mode?
If anyone has any insight, please let me know.

Thanks for the info Pat. Do you think it would be worth my time to set up the SSD if theres a chance it won't work correctly? What do you think the chances are that it will work as I plan it to?

Lou,
It is really a question of how much time you need/have to reinstall Windows, the updates and your apps. Reinstall Windows 7 is pretty fast, but update can take time to download/install. Of course, installing apps depends a lot on the apps.
If you cannot wait for your new motherboard to enjoy your SSD, you can install on the old MB, try UR to move to the new one. Worst case, you will have to reinstall. If you can wait, save some time and do the new install on the new motherboard.
