Image corrupted when try to access via Acronis True Image
I have Acronis installed and also bootable rescure CD created. I found following different but not sure if it is normal:
1. Backup a copy to USB drive via boot from resure CD. The image able to recover if I boot from CD again.
2. Backup via Acronis install in my WinXP to USB drive. Image able to read from Acronis. However I find I am unable to read the one I backup thru rescure CD It say image is corrupted.
Is this normal?

I am using True Image 2011 version.
Symptom:
Backup using True Image installed in WinXP
1. Restore with same true image - ok
2. Restore with true image rescure disk - ok
Backup with True Image rescure disk (ie boot from CD)
1. Restore with true image rescure disk - ok
2. Restore with true image installed in WinXP - not ok
The backup image is stored in a USB external disk.

Boot from the CD and do a standalone validation of the backup created by the CD.
When creating a backup via the CD, there is a validation option which can be done as part of the backup. This option is easy to miss and located under options on the last screen before you click the Proceed option.
The links below show how to manually validate only from CD.

fwiw. In general, when restoring you will want to use the bootcd.

I backup to USB external drive, not CD/DVD.
However, when restore, I have to use Boot recovery CD to read the backup image file from external CD drive.
Please read back my first post. It seem there is a different in image file when backing my harddisk thru Boot recovery CD vs backup via Acronis already installed in my OS.
Is this as per design or I have to turn on validation as you mention? (I did not turn on this option in both case).
