Home 2009 - Privilege problem when creating secure zone.

Thread needs solution

When trying to create the secure zone I get the following error. Failed to execute the task script. Error #1314 - "A required privilege is not held by the client (0xFFF0)

Searching here I found a response from Acronis which states that the problem is caused by tasks being created by a different user. I only have 1 user on my PC and thats me. I installed Home 2009, I am the user and I am trying to create the secure zone.

This was a very hard package to install on my Vista home edition PC and I had to turn off Account Control in order for it to install at all. Before that it just kept getting to the end of install and then saying it was interupted and uninstaling itself.

It also pushes my CPU to 100%

Now I have it installed, I just want to create my secure zone, do my image backup and turn on the recovery manager so I can re-install my C drive if required. I used to be able to do this all nicely in TI version 8. Only upgraded to Home 2009 because of Vista.

The box said it was Vista compatable, but many users seem to be having major problems with Home 2009 on Vista. Is this just a bad release and should I upgrade to Home 2010 or cut my losses and find a different product.

Does anyone know how to fix this privilege issue?

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

The most probable cause is that account under which you are trying to run the task does not have enough privileges for the operation (even if the account has Administrator rights).

  1. Delete all scheduled tasks with the task zap command and Acronis scheduling utility. See Acronis Scheduler Manager for complete instructions.
  2. Recreate the tasks using your version of Acronis backup software. Reattempt the operation.
  3. If this does not help, you may simply boot your computer from Standalone Version of Acronis True Image and create Acronis Secure Zone from it.

I have had this software for almost a year. I have cloned before without a problem. Now all of a sudden I get the same error #1314 I have tried all your suggestions and nothing works. This is crazy, I have a software but can't use it to clone which is the real reason I bought it. Please find a solution to this I need it.

If you were using the same software successfully for almost a year and now it suddenly gives out an error then it is something that has changed on your system that is causing the error.
