How do I backup all partitions?

Thread needs solution

Hi, we use Acronis to make image of our Dell machines. Our Dell machines have 3partitions, MBR, OS & a Dell diagnostic partition.

So I was wondering, is it possible to backup the whole disk with all partitions and all boot settings? So that it detects where to put every partition when we are going to recover the image on another machine with exact same hardware, but maybe a slightly different disk. (Example: master got a disk with 120GB, but target got a disk with 320GB or 80GB)

Is it also possible to make Acronis automatically resize the partition after it's finished loading the image into the target?

Thanks In Advance!

Yes, it is possible to backup the whole disk with ATI. This is the core use case of the product.

When you restore an entire image to a disk of different size, ATI will scale proportionally the partitions to adapt to the new size. These automatic changes can result in some problems with certain partitions.
You can control how ATI will change the partition sizes: you have to restore one partition after the other, then the MBR+Track0 and the disk signature. When you restore a single partition, ATI will let you adjust, or not, the target restored partition.
