Why do the new backup files have extra info added?

Thread needs solution

TI 2013 file names have a bunch of added junk that makes the names long and unwieldy, e.g., My_Documents_2012-09-06_inc_b2_s4_v1.tib, and there seems to be no way to get rid of this extra garbage. The date is ok, since I added that myself. Does anyone know why the extra stuff is there and how to get rid of it?

It is a new feature of 2013 and its purpose is to help identify backups.
b2 is identifying it is backup 2 or chain 2
s4 is the 4th slice which would be the 3rd inc after the last full
V1 is that it is only 1 file--not split into archives

You cannot prevent is occurrence and if you change the name afterwards, the chain becomes corrupt because the new name will not match the database records.

For some, it will be a nuisance. For others it will be a major help.

I didn't like it at first, but now think it is the best thing about 2013.
