True Image 2010 build 6029: completed with less DVDs but log says errors ???

Thread needs solution

I tried doing a disk backup to DVD of the following partitions with True Image 2010 build 6029.

Partition C on First Hard disk : Windows Xp - ntfs
Partition D on Second Hard Disk : videos + mp3s - fat32
Partition X on Second hard Disk : games - ntfs
Partition Z on Second hard Disk : downloaded files + installs - ntfs

All these are roughly 35Gb.

This is my first attempt of doing a backup. I said to use my DVD burner as the local folder + validate archive + maximum compression. When it started (5PM) it told me there will be 6 DVDs (1 of 6).There were never a message on screen indicating any kind of problems. I checked it from time to times and swaped in the new DVDs when it requested it.

Around 9PM, I came back into the room and it had done DVD #4 about half way. Then it started its validation process and asked the following:

DVD # 3
DVD # 4
DVD # 3
DVD # 1 (took 1/4 of the times compared to all others)
DVD # 2
DVD # 3
DVD # 1

It then told me the backup was done successfully. But when I checked the log tab, I saw I/O errors every times it asked for a DVD on its validation process.

Why was it telling me it was going to use 6 DVDs but only used 3.5 ?

Why are there errors in the log but the ongoing backup never showed me any errors and told me it worked successfully ?

So I have no idea if it worked or if this trial will ever produce a good one.

What happens after the trial expires ?
Can I use the recovery CD creation process to recover those backups if I should ever want to use them ?

None of the regular users here would recommend using DVDs as the initial target for a Backup Image. Save your sanity (and whatever hair on your head that is left - LOL) and use an external usb drive to hold the Backups. It is much faster and you do not have to stick around to feed in disks.
