2011 Boot Disk won't work in Win7 64 bit

Thread needs solution

Hi Guys, I have a 2011 Boot disk created under XP. Now I have moved to Windows 7 64 bit and find that old boot disk won't work. Seems to hit Autoplay problems. What do I need to do? thanks Roger

Roger,

I am assuming you moved to Win7 *on the same computer* correct?

If yes, the same boot CD should work. Verify your boot settings. If for any reason you moved to UEFI boot on your upgraded system, switch back to BIOS to boot on the CD only.

If no, can you describe exactly what happens when you try to boot on the CD?

Thanks Pat, well I'm somewhat embarrassed now. I was so confident that my BIOS was set correctly that I failed to check it. Your reply sent me to the BIOS and I found 1st Boot Device = HD 2nd Boot Device = CDROM so I reversed it and promptly found my Acronis Boot Disk worked fine.

This may explain a couple of other little problems I have hit as well . . . so many thanks for forcing me to check it out. Roger
