Acronis 2012 Program Problem

Thread needs solution

I got up this morning and found my computer was still running when it shouldn't be. I have Acronis scheduled to run on certain days automatically and back up a different HD each day and then shut my computer off so this morning is should have been off. Wanting to see if there was a problem with backing up last night I tried to start Acronis. I got a pop up window saying "access is denied"... WTH? Thinking it was so odd Windows 7 glitch I rebooted and tried to start Acronis again. Same thing. I can no longer start the program to back up or restore any of my data! Anyone know what's going on with this program and what I can do about it? I see the services are running but that's it. Thanks for any help you can give!

Are you logging in to the Windows user account that you normally use when running Acronis True Image?

Yes, I am. There is only one account. It was working fine until this happened. I haven't installed any new programs and I'm really at a loss as to why this has happened. I use Vipre for my security suite and have given Acronis all permissions. I just tried shutting it off to see if that would make any difference and when clicking on the icon now nothing happens. No pop-up window saying access denied. I see the windows timer/cursor pop up momentarily but then nothing.

Edit: It turns out it was my security suite. Evidently there was an update the other day that some how screwed up the rules that were already in place. I deleted all my entries related to Acronis and re-entered them and rebooted and now the program will start again! Thanks for the replies and helping me to focus/narrow it down!

Thanks for posting to let us know the resolution. That's helpful to others reading this thread.
