ATI Home 2013 v5551 has to restart PC twice to start recovery

Thread needs solution

Does anybody know why when I try to recover the C drive on my laptop (from an image on the second partition on the drive) using ATI Home 2013 v5551 the machine comes up with the dialog that says the laptop has to restart in order to complete the task, but the first time it reboot it just sits there with a blank screen and then nothing.. (it looks like it has stalled) .. If I repeat the process it always works, but never the first time?

Any ideas

I'm running it on a Windows 8 Enterprise x86

Try performing the recovery after booting from the Acronis True Image bootable Recovery Media (Rescue Media), either on CD-R or USB flash drive.

Yes all the Bootable Rescue Media work fine first time.

I have a test Windows 8 Enterprise PC that when I want to reimage back to it's good state I choose the backup image from explorer (it's on the same physical drive but on a separate partition) select to just recover drive C. The machine reboots and then stalls just before you get to the "task remaining window"...
If I repeat the process from Windows all over again it works...

It happens every time - you have to do it twice? Strangely this never used to happen with previous versions of ATI, 2011, 2012 etc?
