Too long to backup!!

Thread needs solution

Am trying to backup the C-drive (40 GB). Started the backup. Trueimage started calculating the estimated duration of the backup. I cancelled it when the estimated time reached 1 day and climbing!! It took only circa 7 hours to backup the larger C-drive. What is wrong?? Am dead in the water until I get this resolved. :(

The estimated time has not accurate. Ignore the estimation. Go ahead and do the backup. It will not take long. About an hour or so.

Validation, if enabled, will take about the same time as the backup.

The first backup will give you the good feel for the amount of time needed. Or, start the backup and go do something else and it will be done when you return or let the backup run while you sleep.

I am having the same problem- 46G backup, been running for 14hours, says it has another 5 days to go and not progressing much at all? Have I done something wrong?

46 GB for 14 hours? Something is seariously wrong. I could backup the same amount in less than 20 minutes, if it's a disk/partition backup, to a USB 3.0 drive.

Don't connect via a hub, a port in a monitor, a USB extension cord, etc. Connect the external drive directly to a USB port on the rear of the computer case. See if that works better.

kt,

Could give us some more details about what you are backing up and what you are backing up to, as well as some system information and the version of Acronis True Image you are using.

Your backup speed does not sound normal.
