Section 8.2.1.2 (page 172) of the User Guide for 2013 tells you how to use the 'startup parameters') if required. Most users don't need to worry about this and just following the instrauctions in the previous section on making a Recovery CD are all that is needed. If you find Linux can't see your drives or other problems when trying to boot from the recovery CD then the parameters listed might solve the problem.

You can try them out by pressing F11 after the Acronis Loading..... message and enter them into the command line that will appear. If it works then you can enter the parameter(s) at the appropriate point in the media builder wizard.

Note if you do find you need to use the parameters do not activate the Acronis Start Up recovery Manager as this will also need the same parameters and there is no easy way of adding them to the ASRM version of the recovery environment.

If your CD still can't start your system correctly you are left with either making a BartPe CD (XP only) or purchasing the Plus Pack so that you can make a WinPe version of the recovery CD (Downlaoding of the Microsoft WAIK is also required for WinPe).

You can also as it says in the User Guide runan Acronis system Report and send it to Acronis to see if they can make a special recovery CD just for your system.
