ATIH 2011 can not navigate XP Acronis Rescue startup screen

Thread needs solution

When I boot via my ATIH 2011 rescue cd...Acronis boots but I can not do anything on the startup screen. Neither my mouse...arrow keys...or tab key will respond ?

After the 10 or so seconds...Win XP SP3 starts normally...AND...all keyboard and mouse functions are OK ?

Any ideas on how to navigate the rescue CD startup screen ? My 2 Win 7 machines rescue startup screen work fine...ie...keyboard, mouse, etc

Thanks...TiminAz

Try using a different mouse and keyboard when booting to the rescue disk. The Linux based Rescue Disk is not correctly detecting and activating the current keyboard and mouse. Also check to see if you have an option to enable legacy (pre Windows boot) USB mouse and keyboard support in your BIOS settings. (May be called something a little different.)

Thanks James...that did it...never noticed in all these years the legacy usb options in the bios ?!

oops...new issue...the Acronis boot disk loads fine now...but...I get the following which is normal (same on my Win 7 machines):

Loading, please wait
no raid disks
Reading all phisical Volumes...This may take awhile

Problem is this will run for more than 40 minutes and never load the linix Acronis screen ?

I only have 2 rather small Hdd's with a total of 4 partitions (jpg attached)

Acronis sometimes has issues with Card Readers, try disconnecting the HP Card Reader (USB Printer/All-In-One) before booting to the Rescue Media.

The (USB Printer/All-In-One) is on another computer...not the XP machine...although it is networked to all my PC's ?

When Acronis Rescue is "reading all drives"...will it also read any network drives on any machine that is 'shared' on the home network ? Left the Acronis rescue disk running while "reading" last night for almost 9 hours and it is still 'reading' this morning ?

I don't think Acronis is poling the network shares this early in the loading process, but a simple test would be to unplug the network cable before booting to the Rescue Media.

Good idea...will try shortly...also..is the Acronis Rescue CD the same no matter what kind of Windows installation it's created on...ie XP Pro - Win &Pro 32bit - Win 7 Pro 64 bit...etc

Yes.

Have tried mutiple Acronis Revovery CD's created on different Windows machines/OS's....but I still get the same thing:

Loading, please wait
no raid disks
Reading all physical Volumes...This may take awhile

Update
Keeps running no matter what....any ideas on how to get any Acronis Rescue CD to run on my Windows XP SP3 machine....??...While not recently...I know rescue disk previously worked on this machine ?
