HOW TO: Recover all partitions (recover/hidden, etc)

Thread needs solution

Here is a detailed explanation of what I am trying to accomplish. I purchased a new computer. The HDD has 5 partitions total (4 are hidden recovery partitions), one is the Prim/Active OS partition. I created a full backup image of the entire disk and I am now attempting to recover this backup to a separate internal HDD as a precaution/dry-run so in the event of an emergency I am prepared and knowledgeable on how to restore the backup.

I am booting using the bootable media and following the instructions on how to recover hidden partitions. When specifying the location, type, and size of the partitions; I see the following list:

(a) Settings of Partition 1-0
(b) Settings of Partition 1-0
(c) Settings of Partition 1-0
(d) Settings of Partition C:
(e) Settings of Partition 1-0

I have 2 problems. One of the hidden partitions is marked as Primary and 'Make Active' is selected/checked and it is greyed out. Therefore I am unable to deselect 'Make Active'. It is hidden and should not be 'active'. The only active partition that should be is item (d) above (Partition C:).

Second: I can assign the location, type, and size of the first 4 partitions. When I try to assign the target of the fifth/last partition above, I cannot select the 'Unallocated Space' remaining on the target because it is greyed out and unselectable despite the fact that there is sufficient space left to accommodate the partition.

I made a small amount of progress on this, but still have issues recovering with the backup file to a new HDD.

I selected Tools/Utilities and selected 'Add New Disk'. I then formatted the target HDD using GPT layout. All of my partitions in the backup are GPT. I then proceeded to restore the image but the process will only complete about 1/3 of the way. I am receiving an error that states: 'Recover Operation Failed'.

Do your recover operation from the recovery CD. YOu will probably have to disable secure boot, disable UEFI and enable legacy boot to be able to boot the computer on the Acronis recovery CD.
Recover each partition one after the other the same way they were laid out before. Do not resize any hidden partition. You can resize others.
Before rebooting into Windows, make sure only one disk is in the system, either the source or the restore disk. AND restore UEFI and secureboot.

I managed to get the restore/recovery process to work. The image I was trying to recover from turned out to be corrupt. I found this out by performing a validate on the backup.
