Cloning C: Disk to External Drive - System Hangs
I attempted to use Acronis 2013 on a Asus CM 6870, running Windows 7 64-bit premium, to clone the C: drive (Source) to an external disk (Destination). The C: drive is a 256GB Intel SSD. Windows 7 is up to date with the latest Microsoft Updates. The system is brand new and has been running flawlessly throughout the process of loading all my applications.
After I clicked Start within the Acronis Clone window to begin the operation, the system rebooted. I was greeted with a black screen with a white blinking dash. No text of any sort or any other indication of activity was presented on the screen. I noticed that one of the external hard drive lights was flashing some activity, but this was not the drive that I selected as the Destination drive.
After waiting 5 minutes or so, I rebooted the system by pressing the On/Off button, only to see the same behavior. I tried a few more times and cannot seem to get my system to boot into Windows.
Any ideas on how to kill the Clone process and get back to Windows?
Thanks in advance,
Bob
