Win7 backup is still active and filling my disk!

Thread needs solution

I have True Image Home 2012, update 2.1 in Win7 Home version.

Acronis is the active backup, and Windows's own backup system should not be active. However, once a week or so it seems to generate a backup file to the extrenal disk I use for the purpose... looks similar to what I had in place before installing Acronis. I do not have enough disk space for an extra system backup file.

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable win backup / use Acronis only without 1st taking the windows backup back into use & disabling Acronis?

And is this a bug or just some error I did?

Thanks, br.Janne

Go to the acronis gear menu, left of the help menu in the upper left of the ATI window. Disable the integration with windows. Close ATI. Go back to the Windows backup control panel. Make sure the Windows backup schedule is off.

Alternatively, you can look for the Windows backup task in the Windows task scheduler and disable the task there. But disabling the integration of ATI with Windows is actually a good thing, IMO.
