True Image 11 and Windows 8

Thread needs solution

I recycled an old laptop and put a Windows 8 pro upgrade on it. The laptop works better now and I think Win 8 is a major success waiting to happen ... as soon as they fix the interface issue.

I loaded True Image 11 and ran it using Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode and backup appears to work just fine, although a little slow. Can I trust the backup images as reliable? If I do a major restore, I will boot from a recovery disk as this appears to be the most reliable recovery method. Individual files appear to copy OK from backup images.

Will the change in boot record methodology from XP to Win 8 be an issue or will V 11 handle it?

I am not sure. v11 is really an old version.

The best way is to try on a spare disk. You are right to use the recovery CD. If v11 doesn't restore the partitions or alignment properly, you could still try to prepartition the disk with diskpart, then restore one partition at a time.
