Sync Failed Local Folders MY-PC to MY-PC

Thread needs solution

I keep getting the error message below for a local folders sync:

'Failed to copy changes of synced data from MY-PC to MY-PC: Failed to update sync metadata. Try again later. The sync will be restarted automatically later.'

It may be that I'm using the same folder as an old sync, but this time it's syncing to another folder.

I've tried removing the sync, restarting the computer, then rebuilding it.

But the same thing happens it can't sync.

It's probably remembering the old sync and not updating the metadata database regarding the old sync folder. I noticed in windows explorer the folder still had the 'sync house icon' (within one computer) representing the folder even though I had removed the sync and restarted the pc.

Folders are:
C:\Users\Name\Folder
M:\Folder

M being an external drive.

Shane,

Is your internet connection working when you try to sync?

I'm slightly confused, is this a PC to PC syn or just one PC to the external drive?

I am getting a similar error

'Failed to copy changes of synced data from ANDRES-HP625 to ANDRES-HP625: Failed to update sync metadata. Try again later. The sync will be restarted automatically later.'

This particular sync is between two NAS disks and Acronis Cloud (I get separate but similar messages for the other pairs), but I got it also before when only one disk and the cloud were involved. Removing the sync and rebuilding it from scratch works for a while, but eventually (within a few days) it gets into the error mode again and seems to be unable to recover.

Any tricks to avoid the problem? At the very least, is it possible re-initialize the sync with clean metadata without requiring a full upload to the cloud (100G takes a while...)? (Although this is not really great since the history feature will be out the window...)

Thanks for any hints,
Andres
