Where are scheduled jobs?

Thread needs solution

Installed the 2012 version. I've been using TI since maybe v7 (not 2007). It's totally different from 2010. How do I get to the list of scheduled jobs and log files? Why on earth does it scan every computer on my network for tib files? It even scans the Archive machine where I've archived the backup files! Somehow it lists a machine that's been in my wife's office since 2011. The machine I'm using is just a few months old!

You should start with consulting the user manual:

Archive scanning was bit annoying with 2012. Acronis provided an option to stop scanning with the last update of it.
It looks like you found it

The option is now standard in 2013, although it doesn't behave perfectly for now. You can hide the folders containing the TIB files. You should also let 2012 finish its scanning by letting it run for a long time, otherwise it will restart an interrupted scanning session.

I have consulted the manual. Where can I find the list of jobs? I can find a list of backups. When I choose "Recreate backup settings", it shows default settings, not the settings that it has just used to perform the backup. What kind of mess is this?

There is not list of scheduled jobs, only a list of the task(s) themselves. You would need to select "edit settings" under the "settings" icon on each task to see the schedule you have set up.

If the backup listed in the Backup and Recovery Tab is not a task, but only a list of a found/discovered (during installation or later) backup file, there will not be an "edit settings" option.

Another problem. The email notification message does not mention the name of the machine. I have 2010 installed on some 20 or so machines. The current email messages are ludicrously inadequate. It's amazing how Acronis has ruined a fine product.

Karl,
The notification does include the email address of the sender and the task name and backup file name

At time of backup file name creation by the user, user has the option to add user name or machine name to the name of the backup file.
This information can also be included in the name assigned to the task which is included in the email notification.

user name = %user%
machine name = %machine%

I do suggest a dash or underscore be added to both the beginning and end of name for clarity.
