Can't delete .TIB file (TIH 2010)

Thread needs solution

I made a .TIB file of my boot drive by booting via CD-ROM and creating the image on a different internal hard drive.

I copied it to an external drive and want to delete the original backup, but cannot. If I try in Explorer, I get an odd message like "Can't be completed because folder is open in COM surrogate". If I try within the Windows version of Acronis, I browse to the backup, then delete, and it says "failed to delete some files or folders", removes it from the backup list, and nothing has changed.

Help?

Thanks.

Okay, I was able to delete the file by using an "Unlocker" utility. But there's obviously some sort of general issue here; in case any of you Acronis folks happen upon this, perhaps you can tell me what the "proper" solution is here.

Thanks.

Sometimes a reboot will enable the deletion or the assumption of file ownership may enable the delete but when all else fails, the unlocker utility can be a necessity.
