Acronis 2012 Wake from sleep issue
Anyone know why my pc doesn't want to wake from sleep to run a scheduled backep even though i have the
"Wake up the sleeping/hibernating computer" box checked?
When i first installed ACI 2012, it worked for a few backups, then stopped. So i contacted tech support and they noticed i hadn't updated to latest build (6131) so they suggested i try that. I did and it worked a few times then now it's stopped working again.
Anyone know what could cause conflicts with acronis waking from sleep?
Thanks :)

A workaround would be to use the Windows Task Scheduler and run a meaningless task just prior to the start of your backup. This would wake the computer so the backup could be run without your intervention.

I have experienced the same issue with my XP machine not waking from sleep state. Like TommyAU's experience , mine worked the first few times and then stopped working altogether, even though no changes have been made to those settings.
BTW, I'm familiar with the Windows Task Scheduler / meaningless task routine. And for the record, that works in fine on my Windows 7 PC, but not on my Windows XP box. I've been waiting through several iterations now of ATIH for one that deals effectively with the known issue of waking from sleep, but it looks like they still haven't quite gotten it right. Any help on this one is appreciated.
Thanks in advance...

I am happily using ATIH 2010 for backups, using the Windows 7 task scheduler to wake the computer from S3 sleep to perform backup at 0300 weekly, has been working just fine for the past several years. Can anyone tell me if the 2013 version has properly addressed the issue of waking the computer from sleep to complete a schedluled backup? I have searched the forums, seems like the problem still exists. I see no point in upgrading if I still have to use Windows to schedule a backup. Thanks again to all who helped me figure this out way back when (2009 actually).

I have upgraded to ATIH 2013, and have been using the program for a couple of weeks now. Thus far the built in setting to wake from sleep has been working without fail. It wakes the system about one minute before a scheduled backup is set to trigger on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine.
I have not yet tested this functionality on my XP machine. As stated earlier, the wake from sleep function using ATIH 2012 fails on my XP machine. But I was able to workaround this limitation by using a free utility called 'WakeupOnStandBy:'

This utility has a very small footprint and does solve the problem on my XP box.

Experiencing this issue on a brand new Lenovo running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and ATIH 2013. Machine will not wake from sleep although wake from sleep tick box is ticked. It seems to have woken a few time last week but now only runs a backup when the user has manually woken the machine.
