ti 2013 Home - Com Surrogate

Thread needs solution

I'm having what seems to be a common problem with the COM Surrogate error also. My system is Windows 7 Professional / 64 bit. I had TI 2012 but upgraded to the 2013 version back in fall....but now this error has started popping up.

There were some threads about manually cleaning up the 2012 files first, which I assume means I should also remove the 2013 version? What steps should I go thru to be sure I have thoroughly purged both 2012 & 2013 from my system before trying to reinstall the 2013 version?

Please see this post, and the thread it is contained in. The listed file will fix the COM surrogate error in 2013.

Before installing 2013, uninstall your current version and then run the Acronis True Image Cleanup Utility for 2011-2013: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876

Be careful to follow all instructions, including not allowing the utility to reboot until you've made the Registry edits. This includes such steps as first uninstalling Plus Pack and deactivating Secure Zone, prior to uninstalling.
